Who knows what success Brutus Beefcake may have been earmarked for in the then-WWF before an unfortunate accident. Whilst out parasailing, Beefcake's face was completely caved in by a friend's knees, causing intense surgery to repair his facial structure. This put a hold on the man's wrestling career, but he did make a curious return to screens in 1991. Wearing red jeans, a curious piece on his chest, and a star-emblazoned mask, Beefcake returned on an episode of Superstars. Stopping Earthquake from crushing a jobber, the man was not named by the commentary team. He made several more appearances, attacking the likes of Rick Martel and Dino Bravo. The whole situation was curious. It makes sense to think that Brutus was on a mission to stop heels from paralysing their foes, but that was never mentioned on television. Instead, Beefcake merely returned to playing 'The Barber' character later that year. No mention was ever made to his 'Mystery Man' phase, which is truly bizarre.
