10 Most Pointless WWE Returns

10. Kenny Dykstra

Kenny Dykstra, at one point the youngest member of the WWE main roster, was brought back to the WWE ring last year by The Miz in the run-up to his Intercontinental Championship match with Dolph Ziggler at No Mercy.

The connection here was fairly clear, to be fair: Ziggler and Dykstra were formerly teammates in the short-lived Spirit Squad. And this was something Miz took great pleasure in reminding his opponent of, presumably under the mistaken belief that he would be left too humiliated to compete at the pay-per-view.

It was a nice if very brief trip down memory lane, but after the dust settled on the Ziggler thing - with his ex-friend ultimately winning the title at No Mercy - the company suddenly realised it had nothing else for the one-time Tag Team Champion to do.

This was a spot with which Dykstra was by now pretty familiar, and after teaming for a short while with fellow Spirit Squad alumnus Mikey, the duo were together released early the following year. Just why?
