Ok, so it's highly likely that few - if any - adults were genuinely upset by the fact The Rock beat John Cena at WrestleMania XXVIII. Going just over half an hour, both men were soaked with sweat by the time the match concluded, and even though many felt the build had been dubiously peppered with unnecessary segments for close to a full year on television, the bout did have a big-match feel to it. Like or loathe either man, this was a battle of what WWE used to be against what it represented in 2012. John Cena was the biggest thing going, and here was this movie star coming back into the mix to try and steal his spotlight. At least, that's how young children likely viewed proceedings, favouring Cena over The Rock. Sitting on the ramp following his loss, Cena reflected the deflation his fan base were collectively feeling, unable to grasp the fact that he'd just been beaten by Dwayne Johnson. It was a huge moment, and perhaps a watershed for Cena as a character, who would have his revenge one year later.
