Given that both The Undertaker and Steve Austin were on the shelf in early-2000, it's perhaps surprising that Mick Foley was thinking of calling it a day. Along with The Rock and Triple H, Foley had been one of the big stars holding the fort in the company whilst others were out injured, and he'd have two of his most memorable matches against 'The Game' at the turn of the new millennium. Following a terrific Street Fight at the Royal Rumble, Foley (as Cactus Jack) met Triple H inside the vicious Hell In A Cell structure at February's No Way Out PPV. Vowing to retire if he lost, Cactus would just come up short, but not before falling through the roof of the cell and crashing through the ring canvas. Foley wouldn't be gone too long, incredibly being inserted into the main event of WrestleMania (much to the chagrin of Chris Jericho, who had originally been scheduled for the slot), and he'd then move on to be the on-screen Commissioner for the company. When he lost to HHH at No Way Out, fans were devastated that Foley's career had apparently come to an end.
