Bam Bam Bigelow has been called one of the best 'big men' in pro wrestling history by the likes of Bret Hart and Steve Austin. By 1998, his career had stalled a little, and it was becoming clear that he wasn't going to ever reach the top of the mountain in the then-WWF. ECW provided some solace for Bigelow, and he was treated like a huge star by the promotion's faithful. Memorably, Bam Bam countered a Tazmission by dropping to his back in the middle of the ring during a later match at Living Dangerously in March, 1998. It's possible that more fans have watched that match, rather than the one from the Summer after at Heatwave. This is due to the ring canvas infamously collapsing, making for a successful YouTube clip. Thankfully, the WWE Network now makes it possible to enjoy such an overlooked second tussle. It's a worthwhile endeavour to seek it out, Bam Bam and Taz create a curious mix of styles that just works well. In ECW, Taz was portrayed as a complete hard man, and despite his diminutive size he comes across as dangerous against the much larger opponent. Bigelow looks reinvigorated, entering a great performance across the 13 minutes or so.
