10 Most Unlikely WWE Trends
10. Perry Saturn And 'Moppy'
Signed in early 2000, Perry Saturn made his way to the WWF alongside Chris Benoit, Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero. Coming in as a quartet from WCW, the group were dubbed 'The Radicalz', but it didn't take long for their momentum to subside.
Guerrero and Benoit would go on to bigger things eventually, but Malenko and Saturn proved bit-part players.
At some point in 2001 following the breakup of The Radicalz, Saturn's character was changed completely. No longer was he a hard-nosed wrestler with Terri Runnels by his side, he was now a lunatic figure who - following supposed head trauma in storyline - quickly formed a bizarre relationship with a mop.
Rumour has it that this was in response to Saturn beating up jobber Mike Bell during a WWF Jakked taping.
Known as 'Moppy', the household item was one Saturn carried with him everywhere. He even picked the mop over Terri, and the fans lapped the whole scenario up. Carrying Moppy with him was the most over period of Pez's WWF/WWE career, which is a truly unique thing to be able to claim.
It turned him babyface, because fans enjoyed his random outbursts of 'You're Welcome!' and infatuation with the floor-cleaner. Who could have imagined a mop would get over?
