Outspoken, brash, confident and defiant are all words which could be used when describing Phil 'CM Punk' Brooks. Now looking forward to starting a controversial career in Mixed Martial Arts, Punk is a classic example of someone forcing those in charge to take notice of what he's doing. Not an unlikely champion because he's a bad worker, doesn't connect with the fans or can't talk on the microphone - CM Punk was at times a superlative performer, adored by fans and could hold a gripping conversation with a brick wall if he chose, Punk was never supposed to be the success story he is today. Castigated by the likes of Triple H and Shawn Michaels as someone who 'couldn't work', CM Punk would go on to be the longest reigning WWE Champion of a generation, holding the strap for well over one calendar year. Even better, his tenure with the top title never felt forced, instead coming across entirely natural. Punk was having some of the best matches of his career as champion, that much is for certain. Disliked intensely by some very key people in WWE, it's a tribute to his self-belief, talent and ability to enrapture WWE fans that the man made it as far as he did.
