10 New Directions For AEW After All Out 2023
Could Tony Khan take AEW in a brave new direction following that topsy turvy week?!
Aaaaaand breathe.
One of the most topsy turvy weeks in All Elite Wrestling history has come to an end, and everyone must be bloody knackered. Sunday's All Out pay-per-view in Chicago capped off quite the journey for Tony Khan and crew - Wembley Stadium's majesty at All In was followed by a messy breakup with CM Punk and the second supershow in just seven days.
The nature of this biz dictates there's no rest for the weary though. Dynamite is coming on Wednesday, and AEW's big challenge now will be maintaining audience interest throughout build towards WrestleDream on 1 October. TK might fancy trying on some new things between now and then too. Why not? A sweet blend of back to basics booking and dramatic stories could be the tonic.
All Out featured promotional debuts, sure signs that a stable just peaked (it'll be all downhill from here if the company don't act soon), teases for what's to come in the World Title picture and more. It was a typically lengthy night, but a better-than-expected one with several cracking matches.
Here's where AEW takes things next!
10. Bullet Club Gold = Tag Champs
Hey, remember when Jay White and Juice Robinson lost that hot '2 Out Of 3 Falls' clash to FTR on Collision in July? That epic battle should've told some what many who followed the pair in Japan already knew: Bullet Club Gold are awesome. White and Robinson are surely AEW Tag-Team Champions in the making.
That's not to say anybody's in a real rush to take the belts from FTR. Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood are a safe pair of hands. In fact, they're more than that; they're f*cking excellent champs for any doubles division. However, it'd be really sweet to see Jay and Juice get their flowers.
What's the alternative?
Few have any true desire to see The Young Bucks hold those straps again any time soon. Other prospective challengers include MJF and Adam Cole, but they've got their own stuff going on elsewhere at the moment.
Glory awaits the BCG boys then.
