10 New Directions For AEW After Double Or Nothing 2023
NJPW's finest coming to AEW post-Double Or Nothing, and...Bill Goldberg?!
AEW's Double Or Nothing 2023 was an uneven show.
If you enjoyed it, great, but nobody can claim this was Tony Khan's best. Several matches entertained (like that four-way World Title bout and the typically-chaotic show-closing 'Anarchy In The Arena' brawl), but others died on their arse. Chris Jericho vs. Adam Cole, for example, was a total miss.
Attention now turns to what All Elite has in store next. The glory of Wembley for All In London sits with a smile on the horizon, but Forbidden Door is first up. That goes down on 25 June, and it'll see the usual mix of AEW vs. New Japan fare hardcores have come to know and expect.
Khan's comments during an otherwise-straightforward post-Double Or Nothing press conference also suggest someone major could be landing on Dynamite and/or Collision soon. Will a certain former WCW and WWE star come in for a few squash matches? Don't rule it out.
AEW crowned new champs on Sunday, and paved the way for a few NJPW stars to get involved in one of the promotion's bloodiest set pieces. Here's where TK takes his product next!

10. Bullet Club Gold Going After FTR
It was a bit strange to see the pro wrestling world fawn over Jay White inking a deal with AEW...only for the hot free agent to play a minor role in Sunday's 21-man battle royal. Regardless, what happened after Orange Cassidy retained his International Title should lead to better things.
White and Bullet Club Gold pal Juice Robinson attacked Ricky Starks backstage. The babyface was then instantly saved by FTR (who had just successfully defended their belts vs. Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal on the card). Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler chasing off Jay and Juice teases them as FTR next's challengers.
Sounds like a good time.
AEW might stick this on a random episode of Dynamite, or save it for the debut edition of Collision mid-June. Why? Well, they might have some New Japan full-timers in mind for a crack at the reigning AEW Tag-Team Champs come Forbidden Door.
White and Robinson seem to be in line for a shot first though.
