10 New Directions For AEW After Revolution 2024

3. Swerve Strickland = Full On Babyface

Swerve kinda already is on course to become a top babyface, being honest. People are choking to see him win that AEW World Title and realise his dreams, and there's no denying it'll be a tear-filled, sweet moment when it eventually happens. Tony Khan certainly realises the chase is important here.

In retrospect, yours truly was wrong when calling for Strickland to bag the belt in a three-way at Revolution. Looking back with the benefit of hindsight, that wouldn't have been the correct way to crown Swerve. He deserves to do it one-on-one when Hangman Page isn't wrecking dreams and breaking hearts.

Recent reports claim Hangman will take a bit of time off now, so the coast is clear for Strickland to reach the top. Of course, AEW has to navigate Wardlow's impending title shot first; or, perhaps Tony will keep that on ice and book the Undisputed Kingdom monster as Swerve's first opponent post-title triumph.

Options, options.
