For three straight months following the maiden WrestleMania, Muraco worked in WWE Championship bouts against Hulk Hogan at Madison Square Garden, culminating with a steel cage match on June 21, 1985. Yet, Muraco was mysteriously left off a certain Garden card in March of that year, despite being one of the most recognizable heels in the territory. Admittedly, the first WrestleMania wasn't one of those 'get everybody involved in big matches' deals like it is today. As it was, lower-card fodder like The Executioner, SD Jones, and Matt Borne were used to put over stars three tiers above them on the food chain. Had Muraco possessed his 1985 wattage in, say, 2001, and was left off of WrestleMania 17, eyebrows would definitely have been raised.
