Shortly before the "Captain Charisma" era kicked off, Christian was Chris Jericho's wisecracking running buddy, helping out Jericho in his high-profile story with Shawn Michaels. Christian remained a vital part of WWE programming at the time, making his omission from WrestleMania a bit puzzling. Within two months of being left off of the card, Christian would win the restored Intercontinental title, and trim off his long locks in favor of the more male-modelish look that he's basically sported ever since. It's hard to imagine the Raw brand in 2003 without Christian's title matches, or his pairing with Jericho, so it's not like he was expendable come March 30 of that year. Just a victim of circumstance, one would assume.
