One look at Simon Gotch and youll think you went back in time to the early 1900s. Well relax; you havent done the time warp again. Simon Gotchs vaudevillian gimmick is certainly out of the norm, but at the same time its a beautiful homage to the classic wrestling style that the modern era tends to look back upon with indifference. Its important to remember your past, but Simon Gotch has taken it once step beyond by living in it. From his entrance video to his music to his finely groomed mustache, Simon Gotch has brought the past back to the future, and he didnt even need a DeLorean to do it. Unfortunately, theres no way this gimmick will last once he gets put on the main roster. While it might hit close to home for Vince, Triple Hs direction for WWE is a big step towards the future, not the past. While it might be a fun gimmick to play around with on NXT, Simon and his "Vaudevillain" tag team will not have anyone in management supporting their gimmick once they hit the main roster. Speaking of the Vaudevillains, Simon Gotchs tag partner also needs to be addressed.
