Despite being a relative unknown to WWF/WWE fans, Mil Máscaras is one of the original "Big Three" of Mexico's lucha libre tradition. The Royal Rumble match would be the legend’s only appearance on WWF television, although he competed in a handful of house shows in the 1980s.
He eliminated himself from the Rumble, diving off the top rope out of the ring onto Pierroth, who had just been eliminated himself.
