10 Outrageous Mexican Wrestling Films You Need To See
6. Santo Vs The She Wolves
Moving with the times, this 1976 picture owes less to Hammer than the Euro horror of Paul Naschy, meaning it’s more explicit and less kiddie-friendly than its predecessors. It’s still astonishingly silly, though – where else can you see a masked wrestler taking on werewolves with his fists?
It’s time for Luba, the Queen of the Werewolves, to be reborn in a younger body, which will begin the downfall of mankind. Only two people can stop her – the head of a family of good werewolves and Santo, who because he wears a silver mask must be a guardian angel sent to rid the world of lycanthropes. Obviously. No other explanation is possible.
Added gore and nudity aside, this is still good cheesy fun on a B-grade level, and the poor werewolf makeup just adds to the enjoyment. Disengage brain for a good time.
