10 Potential Bryan Danielson Dojo Recruits In AEW
10. Claudio Castagnoli / Cesaro
Alright, let’s get this pick out of the way as it’s bound to be a divisive one.
Claudio Castagnoli, widely known as “Cesaro” from his recent decade-long tenure in WWE, doesn’t exactly fall under the category of “up-and-coming wrestler”. At 41 years old, he is actually older than both Moxley and Danielson. While he might not be the “future of the industry” that Danielson proposed for the group, he’s certainly a talent that rarely got a chance to live up to his potential throughout his WWE career.
Since leaving WWE a few weeks back, many have debated whether or not signing with AEW would be the most beneficial move for the Swiss superstar. There is an understandable fear that, with all of the recent signings, Cesaro would get lost in the shuffle and play a similar role as he did in WWE. If Cesaro did sign with AEW, however, joining the ‘Danielson Dojo’ might be the best option for him.
Upon joining AEW, Cesaro could immediately align himself with the group, playing the role of another mentor to young talent while being the main event representative of the stable. Considering one of the biggest criticisms Cesaro faced throughout his career was his stagnant mic abilities, putting him with stars such as Regal and Danielson would allow him to focus on what he does best- tearing the house down in the ring.
