Its been 5 years since The Charismatic Enigma, Jeff Hardy has competed in a WWE ring. Hard to believe it has been that long, but it has, and with his current employers future in doubt, the chances of him return to the WWE have significantly improved. If you are watching him work in TNA, its obvious to see that he still has a lot in the tank despite being in his late 30s. He definitely still connects with fans in a way that is unlike anybody in the WWE before him, or after him. He is a unique character, one with a totally different style and look, and definitely has the goods for another solid run with WWE, should the opportunity arise. Breaking down the criteria for anticipating his return pop, he definitely would have time spent away from the WWE. His music (assuming the WWE uses the same music he had when he left) leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately, as does his potential return storyline. If you recall, the circumstances of his departure saw him losing to CM Punk and being forced out of the company. It would have been nice to be able to pick up where things left off, but with Punk gone, it leaves addressing the specifics of his forced exit from the WWE impossible to do. That being said, there are plenty of guys that wed love to see Hardy work with if he were to return. Bray Wyatt springs to mind immediately. The WWE can easily overcome the facts that he cant get revenge for his time away and the fact that his music isnt great by focusing on how long hes been out of the fold, making the return a surprise and immediately putting him in a program with somebody that has the WWE Universes attention already. It would be great to see Jeff come home, and that factor alone is enough to elicit a huge ovation.
