How many people on the entire planet want to hear JBL and Michael Cole's voice for five hours a week? Outside of JBL and Cole, probably no one. It was nice when SmackDown and Raw had different announcers. Guys like Mick Foley, Jim Ross and Tazz could only be heard once a week. That avoided overexposure, and gave you a nice mix of talent. Now we're subjected to the same two guys doing the same shtick that's incredibly tiring. You can tell Cole and JBL are good pals in real life, but they also seem to have a lot of inside jokes, and when they get bored resort to trying to crack each other up on the air. It's not entertaining to listen to, and negates the in-ring action. Tom Phillips has been called up to SmackDown, but he still has his co-hosts dragging him down. He's also fairly mediocre so far. The Friday night show needs some different voices. Luckily WWE has plenty of people to choose from. Joey Styles is still an employee of the company, and would make the show immediately feel fresher. It would be even better if McMahon wasn't on the headset yelling at him the entire time, which is apparently what happened last time. Joining him should be Christian, who has shown for years he knows how to talk. Since WWE is winding down his in-ring career anyway, its time for him to transition into a new role. The important thing is, he would save us from two more hours of JBl a week. SmackDown ratings are falling, and it's hard to blame fans for not watching. It's just recaps of Raw and rematches with the same announcers. IDeja vu at its worst. To make the show feel less stale, a new announce team is a very minimal effort the company could make.
