NXT is the minor leagues of WWE. Talent goes there to learn the ropes, improve and get ready for the main roster. So what football, baseball, or basketball team would keep a player who is clearly ready for the majors in developmental for years? WWE loves this practice, though, even though they are often wasting prime years off of a wrestler's career. Take Sami Zayn. What reason is there for him to be down in NXT so long? He was ready a year ago! WWE desperaley needs babyfaces (as well as heels), and he could help fill the underdog slot that Daniel Bryan perfected. For no clear reason, though, he just toils away in NXT fighting the same guys he's been fighting for months. There is a lot more money to be made with him on Raw. It goes back to WWE being redundant. Instead of watching Rusev fight Zack Ryder again and again, why not have Zayn vs. Ryder? I'm not arguing that match is a huge improvement, but it's different, and different is what WWE needs. It would also be the beginning of Zayn's journey to become a superstar. We got the point of what Rusev vs. Ryder was supposed to accomplish the first time we saw it. We didn't need it four more times. Joining Zayn should be Adrian Neville and The Ascension. Neville looked impressive during his match on Raw. The crowd popped for his finisher, and he's clearly adapted to the WWE style. So what are they waiting for? As for The Ascension, they've done what they can do in NXT. It's time to move on, and move up. While they'll probably never be great wrestlers, they could improve Raw and SmackDown by just adding depth to the tag division. Once the top NXT guys go, then it's time to call up new wrestlers. It's the circle of life, but WWE is just kind of stuck in a circle with no one getting out!
