9. Damien Sandow Returning As The 'Intellectual Savior' To Condemn WWE's Policies
With Sandow recently returning to in-ring action recently, its possible that the intellectual savior might be returning. However, instead of returning to the generic insult the fans intelligence gimmick (because WWE itself does that plenty enough as it is), Sandow should return as a face, criticizing WWE instead. Sandow could use his superior intellect to rip into some of WWEs policies and point out the hypocrisy of what theyre doing. These could include: criticizing WWEs obsession with social media, and how its turning the audience into mindless zombies with their faces buried in their phones; point out the controversies of the Susan G. Komen foundation in order to get attention; or criticize how the WWE Network reduces PPV revenue, which lowers superstars salaries. In response to his defiance, instead of suspending or burying him, WWE would make his life a living hell à la Steve Austin circa 1998-2001. The man with outspoken opinions gets beat up by the Authoritys hired guns, thereby garnering Sandow considerable sympathy. Sandow could then become a corporate whistleblower that stands up for whats right instead of whats profitable. With todays society being more cynical and critical of corporate behaviour in general, it would make sense for WWE to make use of this new zeitgeist and create a new underdog hero vs. corporate overlord storyline that could elevate Sandows career.
