The Diva's Division could, until Lee's retirement, be summed up thusly: A.J. Paige, the Bella twins, and whoever the flavour of the month was. Awesome Kong is gone, and she was the one legit monster of the division. A.J. and Paige were the two best workers, and the Bella Twins shored things up, but outside of them, the biggest talk in regards to the Divas division was who was coming up from NXT. In short, the division had grown stagnant, and never got much respect. It probably deserved more than it got, mind you, and was never properly developed by the WWE - but that was the situation. That left A.J. in a bad spot. As one of the few standouts in the division, she was a big fish in a small pond getting little attention with no fix in sight. Why stick around for that?
