10 Reasons Why Bad News Barrett Is Actually Good News For WWE

By Tom Gibbs /

1. His Catchphrase Is Cool

Okay, okay, so the catchphrase is pretty much the biggest reason the fans love Wade Barrett at the moment. The way he says €œI€™m afraid I€™ve got some BAD NEWS€ is infectious. Even if some fans aren't willing to admit it, at one point or another they used Barrett€™s catchphrase in everyday life. €œHoney, did you do the dishes yet?€ €œIf you think I€™m going to do the dishes tonight, I€™m afraid I€™ve got some BAD NEWS!€ The Internet Wrestling Community has even created meme pictures of Wade standing on his podium, gavel in hand, waiting to dish out whatever €œbad news€ the fans want to create for him. It wouldn€™t even be surprising if WWE decides to release a Wade Barrett action figure that says €œI€™m afraid I€™ve got some bad news€ complete with toy gavel. Why not? Promote the heck out of the catchphrase and milk the cash cow for as long as it remains popular to the fans. What started as a silly joke on the JBL & Cole Show YouTube Series is now starting to grow into a phenomenon. It€™s no Yes Movement, but it€™s still pretty addicting to say. Now let€™s have some decorum and appreciate all the bad news that Barrett delivers each week. Is there anything else you like about Wade Barrett?
