10 Reasons For Wrestling Fans To Be Excited About July
10. Cena's Return
John Cena hasn't been active on WWE programming since WrestleMania 33. He has taken time away to fulfil Hollywood obligations, as well as spend time with his new fiancee Nikki Bella.
Cena has confirmed himself that he will be back on the July 4th edition of SmackDown, sure to bring some patriotic American flair to a brand currently under Maharaja rule. Cena is the antithesis to Jinder Mahal's foreign heel gimmick, so an interaction between these two on July 4th is inevitable.
What is not set in stone however, is Cena's long-term plans within the company. Coming off a rather pitiful 13th WWE Championship reign, Cena played a hand in disrupting SmackDown Live's main event which had flourished under AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose. Will he be sticking around to try and help Jinder Mahal build a significant title reign, or will WWE give up the experiment and put Cena back on top?
Then there is his supposed 'free agent' status. WWE have essentially crafted themselves a loophole where they can airship Cena into Monday Night Raw in an effort to boost ratings. Or, they can have him play out whatever role he might have on SDL.
Either way, the intrigue surrounding Cena's return makes it an unmissable event.
