AEW announcer Jim Ross has been keen to point out via his podcast that the company is in its infancy and shouldn't be considered a WWE botherer quite yet. Whilst JR is only giving the newbie time to grow and foster an identity, he must also know that his old employer has already reacted poorly to the hint of emerging competition.

Once AEW get through this early honeymoon period and start figuring things out, WWE disciples should start getting worried. Lord only knows what'll happen internally at WWE HQ if AEW's viewership grows, or they manage to create wrestling's next breakout star before Vince McMahon does. Heads will roll, no doubt about that.
All Elite aren't going away. If anything, the Khans, Cody and pals will strengthen next year and start to kick on from 2019's launch. How WWE counter that will be key. They cannot afford to pretend that AEW is TNA or a largely non-threatening entity like ROH.
