The foundation for this article comes from the ratings WWE has received in recent weeks, although there are a couple of variables that will have blurred those record low results. There's little doubting that wrestling isn't as popular that it used to be. We're all clear about that and have grown to understand some of the reasons why in this article. However, maybe the business - at WWE's level at least - isn't as dire as many will make out due to how technology stops people from tuning in for a RAW or PPV each and every week. People in the USA use their DVRs which, means they have the luxury to miss a weekly show and catch up on it at a later time. This means that the product on our screens is not only missable due to how poor it is at times, but its also missable because people don't need to see it live. Then you have the WWE Network and WWE's Youtube channel. The former will be taking fans back to better times and possibly turning them off the current product, while the short clips the latter produces after every main show takes away the need to watch a whole WWE show each week. Maybe if WWE stopped producing those at least people would be forced to tune into RAW and SmackDown which, would of course benefit the business as a whole. You can never have too many eyes on a show, after all.
