10 Reasons Why WWE Clash Of Champions 2020 Was The Best PPV Of The Year
10. Opening On A High
Ladder matches are, by and large, one of the most consistent stipulations in WWE history because they are almost always just pure bonkers entertainment. That is especially true when Jeff Hardy is competing in them as the Charismatic Enigma puts his body on the line at the drop of a hat to entertain the WWE Universe.
The Triple Threat match for the Intercontinental Championship between Hardy, Sami Zayn and AJ Styles opened the show in incredibly strong fashion. It was a solid match in general that found a way to make use of the talent in the ring, gifting every one of them with ample opportunities to shine. Throw in the ladder stipulation and it was absolute chaos in the best possible way - chaos that offered fans an unforgettable opener that could very well go down in history as one of the best ladder matches of all time.
In hindsight, opening with this one was a risk because, on paper, it was the one bout that always stood a chance of delivering, so it could have made it incredibly hard for anything to follow it. Thankfully, the rest of the event also delivered.
