10 Reasons Why WWE Must Turn Drew McIntyre Heel Immediately

10. That Sword

It might be a nod to his Scottish heritage but there’s just something a little off about babyface Drew wielding his inanimate ring valet “Angela” on WWE television. The way the sword has been used in storylines hasn’t helped.

The big Scot looks kinda cool plunging the sword into the ground during his ring entrance but the prop’s nadir came when Drew won the right to bring it to the ring against Jinder Mahal. It’s not a kendo stick, it’s a massive blade. Were we supposed to believe Drew might take the “Modern Day Maharaja’s” head off? Perhaps it would have grown back like Rey Mysterio’s eye.

Yes, the sword is supposed to hold sentimental value for the Scot but swinging a big old phallic weapon around, thinking it makes you hard is classic heel stuff. Just look at Triple H and his sledgehammer.

The same goes for carrying around expensive antique trinkets. Not exactly babyface territory. If you’re not convinced check with Vince McMahon. He’s the swords actual, real-life owner and the biggest on and off screen heel in company history.
