10 Reasons Why You Need To Respect The Miz

10. His WWE Title Run

Time has been unkind to The Miz' lone reign atop WWE, but his one hundred and sixty day spell with the gold actually gifted audiences a number of choice cuts away from his eventual destruction by John Cena.

Miz welcomed 2011 in with a bang, successfully defending his title against John Morrison in a criminally forgotten Falls Count Anywhere match on Raw that included Morrison flooring his opponent with a crossbody from the giant WWE logo on the stage, and missing his Starship Pain finisher from the ring through a table on the arena floor for an incredible nearfall.

And as well as his hugely underrated work as the forgotten third man in the Wrestlemania 27 build-up (more on that later), Miz was in rare form as a loudmouth bully in a side programme with Jerry 'The King' Lawler.

After a dramatic TLC main event on Raw saw Lawler robbed by eventual Wrestlemania opponent and Miz apologist Michael Cole, the two would verbally joust for weeks until an eventual payoff at February's 'Elimination Chamber', in which the Champion finally disposed of 'The King' once and for all.

Miz showed superb versatility in the face of difficult booking, and came into his own as a singles perfomer under the highest pressure.
