At present, NXT is in the midst of a tag team tournament featuring (either in the tournament or in surrounding storylines) at least five combinations that show promise (Sin Cara and Kallisto, Colin Cassady and Enzo Amore, The Vaudevillains, The Mechanics, The Legionnaires) and one team, The Ascension, that have been champions for nearly a full calendar year and are being positioned like the Road Warriors of the 21st century. If all of these teams excel, then within twelve more months, WWE could be in the midst of a renaissance and have tag teams worth watching on the lower, middle and upper cards.
