WWE prides itself on being a global company, and as such, they like to keep a broad spectrum of international talent on the roster. Not only does that make WWE look like the place where the best wrestlers in the world truly come to compete, but it also helps the company do better business on international tours. In recent years, especially, WWE has doubled down on global travel, hosting shows in Europe, Mexico, Japan, the Middle East, and more. Preston's Wade Barrett isn't the WWE's only English-born star (Neville and Paige also fit the bill), but - despite the fact that he hasn't been used to his full potential - he's been the most prominently-featured one over the course of the past several years. England and the larger U.K. are among WWE's most popular markets, and having a native star on the roster can only help business.
