10 Reasons WWE Should Abandon Cable Broadcasting And Work With YouTube

By Marcus K. Dowling /

1. WWE Can't Care About "Ratings" Anymore

It's more than a poor TV presentation that's plaguing WWE. Cable in general is in decline as diverse broadcasting options become more readily available. Simply put, streaming is stomping a mudhole in cable and walking it dry. The better "rating" for WWE to consider is looking at clicks-per-week on two-hour editions of Raw and Smackdown on YouTube. If they considered this bold and entirely game-changing move, I think they'd discover all of the answers to the many issues plaguing the show right now. As well, for Universal, advertisers and more, WWE cutting its cord with cable after 30 years would create the bridge to the digital future that many have wanted for quite some time.
