There's a joke in here about how WWE's recent creative wandering has arrested Mustafa Ali's development as a likeable babyface.

Before he was a Mortal Kombat-ish walking collection of lightbulbs and 450 Splashes, Ali roamed the streets of Chicago in his squad car. Oh yes, Sub Zero 2K20 was a policeman, and one who took selfies that made him look a tad like Nev Schulman from Catfish.

He even wore the badge for a good six years when he was training to become a pro wrestler and working indy dates on weekends. Basically, in other words, Mustafa was some sort of real-life version of Batman; a dashing upholder of the law by day, he'd turn his hands to superhuman exploits in-ring by night.

WWE don't mention this at all whenever Ali appears on SmackDown. He's much more likely to generically yak on about "seeing the light" or making the world a better place than he is to talk about his days spent keeping law and order in Chi-Town.
