10 Signings That Could Have Saved TNA
8. Asuka
Much like WWE, TNA has had a pretty terrible history of pushing Japanese wrestlers. Unlike WWE, they don't seem to be moving in the right direction. They don't even have a single Japanese wrestler on their roster.
Signing Asuka a few years ago would have accomplished two important things: created some interest with the Japanese market, and re-ignited their Knockouts Division, which was briefly one of the most successful things they’d ever done.
In 2011, Asuka (as Kana) made her stateside debut in the Shimmer promotion. TNA had much deeper pockets than Shimmer, so they could have easily made a play for her, and informed her that they would build the entire Knockouts division around her if she signed. Seems like a good deal. She was likely never pursued by them in any form.
Besides us being deprived of great matches with Asuka vs. Gail Kim and Awesome Kong, TNA could have beat WWE's Divas Revolution to the punch by years.
