10 Spine-Tingling UFC Homecomings
10. CM Punk (Chicago UFC 225)
It's probably wise to kick off this list with a guy who didn't bring much to the world of MMA other than this awe inspiring walkout to the Octagon.
CM Punk was many things.
A talented pro wrestler, incredible talker and he possessed a care-free attitude which instantly made him a crowd favourite both in WWE and UFC. However, despite all these attributes, a well-rounded MMA fighter he definitely was not.
Punk came into his hometown event at UFC 225 off the back of a crushing defeat at the hands of Mickey Gall and many of his fellow fighters were wondering just why he'd been given another chance to 'steal a spot' away from someone who could actually, you know, fight.
The answer was simple, Punk's next fight would be happening in Chicago and Dana White knew that he could pack out an arena in that city with the promise of The Voice of the Voiceless being on-hand to entertain the rampant Chicago faithful.
If the reaction to his triumphant walkout to Living Colour's Cult of Personality was anything to go by, Punk could have sold out this homecoming venue five-times over.
Sadly, that didn't aid his quest for UFC victory and he would end the night losing via unanimous decision to a smarmy Mike Jackson - thus ending his UFC career with a record of 0-2.
