10 Step Guide To Surviving A Hell In A Cell Match

If wrestling was real, this is what you'd do...

Next month's Hell in a Cell PPV should, on paper, be a highlight of the WWE calender. There's nothing quite like a Cell match - no other stipulation guarantees quite the same sense of drama, danger, and finality. That's the theory at least. Since the introduction of specifically themed pay-per-views (such as TLC, Extreme Rules, and Money In The Bank), the matches behind them have suffered - none more so than Hell in a Cell. Contests inside the towering structure used to be reserved for the most intense of blood feuds, usually representing the end of such rivalries. Back in those days, a wrestler couldn't properly avenge a Hell in a Cell loss the next night on Raw; the victory wouldn't seem anywhere near as grand. Scheduling annual Cell-based PPVs has proven troublesome for the WWE. It's hard to recapture the intensity of such feud-ending classics when modern superstars are in there for comparatively little reason - other than because it's October again. Despite this, contests in the Cell still retain an intimidating air - few stipulations match its potential for serious injury. Here at WhatCulture we like our readers to be prepared for any danger, including the unlikely event of being booked in a Hell in a Cell match (it can happen to anyone, trust us). We've delved back into the most epic Cell bouts of yesteryear, finding out exactly what it takes to survive such a treacherous contest. Follow these instructions and you'll be fine. Probably.
