Is there a bigger dream match in professional wrestling with almost universal consensus? The only thing that comes close in my mind is the fabled CM Punk vs. Steve Austin tie, but even that feels like there is an element of straw clutching with it. When all-time dream WrestleMania cards are written up, The Undertaker vs. Sting tends to be the one match that the card is built around. Truth be told, the desire to see this match has lessened in the last couple of years. The aura has dulled, be it through Undertaker losing to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX or the excitement of Sting being diluting by his match against Triple-H and Seth Rollins last year. The more it is considered, the more confusing and dumbfounding it is that this contest wasn't booked last year. It is safe to assume that Triple-H defeating Sting was classic McMahon, but the battle between Undertaker and Bray Wyatt did little for either man. The only reason I can think of is that WWE was saving it for WrestleMania XXXII in Dallas and the chance to break all sorts of attendance records. It is increasingly unlikely that this match will ever happen, as both men age and decades of intense performance catch up with them. Even so, if The Phenom vs. The Icon was booked, regardless of what show, viewing numbers would surely skyrocket and long-time professional wrestling fans would be able to tick off this particularly Gothic dream match.
