Okay, so Alberto Del Rio hasn't exactly set the world alight since returning to WWE at the end of last year, but the talent of the man is undeniable. He is a top tier in-ring worker (when the desire is there), and has proven that he also has the chops to sit on both sides of the alignment fence. It is as a heel that the WWE Universe knows him best, and one of my overriding feelings with Del Rio is that he would have been an excellent fit in the late 80s and early 90s. In fact, everything about Del Rio screams classic heel; the in-ring style, the look, the promo style, the smugness. Another match that one would have been more effective with The Icon in his prime, a contest between Sting and Alberto Del Rio would not only be fresh for both men, but it would also hark back to a different era in professional wrestling.
