10 Superstars WWE Completely Wasted
Those times WWE totally missed the boat.
WWE spokespeople love pointing out how WCW wasted the talents of Steve Austin, Mick Foley, The Undertaker, Triple H, Chris Jericho, and many more superstars. Those men toiled in the midcard for a promotion that never recognized their full talent, and it was only once they came to WWE that they were able to explore their true potential, making millions of dollars in the process.
To be fair, that's all true - but it's only half the story. WCW missed the boat with those men, but WWE's also been guilty of wasting talent. With only one major wrestling promotion in the United States, the results aren't as immediately noticeable as they were in the 1990s, but that doesn't change the fact that WWE's left a lot of money on the table a lot of times. Whether the issues involved personal grudges or bad booking, or remain a complete mystery to this day, WWE ended up making the wrong decision.
Here are the ten most egregious cases. These superstars could have been major players - instead, some were mishandled and released, some left the company to pursue other opportunities, and some still flounder there. One can only hope that the company is able to learn from its mistakes.
