Full disclosure: there's absolutely no way Gail Kim is going to appear in the Royal Rumble. Her relationship with WWE to be nonexistent after she made her exit five years ago by deliberately eliminating herself from a battle royal on Raw.

Having said that, if you were to make a list of female wrestlers from WWE's bad old days who you'd like to see get in the ring with some of today's cast, the one-time Women's Champion would have to near or at the very top of it.

She's been one of the best female wrestlers in mainstream American wrestling over the last 10 or 15 years, evidenced - if not by her run in Vince McMahon's empire - then certainly by the brilliant matches she shared as part of the burgeoning TNA Knockout division.

If the company is interested in throwing in some surprise picks who can add to the spectacle, rather than merely generate a bit of buzz in the crowd, Kim - who only formally retired this year - has to be in the running (although, obviously, she won't be).
