10 Tag Teams WWE Split Up For Absolutely No Reason

By Jamie Kennedy /

7. Paul London & Brian Kendrick

In 2004, Paul London bagged the WWE Tag Team Titles with Billy Kidman. Once that unit was phased out, he started teaming regularly with Brian Kendrick. They were an excellent pairing who could be relied on to deliver consistently good matches. On May 21, 2006 at the Judgment Day pay-per-view they defeated MNM to win the tag titles, holding them for a mammoth 331 days before dropping the, on April 17, 2007 to Deuce n' Domino. Their status as one of the finest teams to come along for some time makes their 2008 split all the more confusing. The theory was that Brian Kendrick could become something more if he was drafted to SmackDown. However, upon morphing in to The Brian Kendrick, a modern day Brian Pillman-style character, WWE failed to capitalise on the gimmick and gave up pushing him within just a few months. Meanwhile, Paul London found himself released later in 2008, with his former partner following shortly thereafter in 2009.
