10 Things AEW Fans Want After Double Or Nothing
10. A Women's Championship
At their first big press conference earlier this year, Brandi Rhodes announced to the world that AEW would have a women's division.
That division was launched with two all-female matches at Double Or Nothing; one featuring top stars from Japan (more on that later) and the other featuring AEW signees Dr. Britt Baker (D.M.D), Nyla Rose, and Kylie Rae. The trio were joined by surprise entrant, Awesome Kong, who was introduced by Brandi herself.
It was a solid start to the women's division in AEW, establishing all three regulars and getting a great reaction for the return of Kong. However, if Brandi's promises about the division are to come true, then AEW still need to go a long way with its female stars.
The first thing that they can do is reveal what its women's division will be fighting over. At Double Or Nothing, the company introduced its men's World Championship, but announced nothing about a women's title.
Fans of women's wrestling need to see that AEW are serious about their pledges, but at the moment the women in the company are currently at a disadvantage, because they have no championship. AEW needs to introduce this title quickly or face calls of hypocrisy.
