Many know that Randy Orton was a member of the United States Marine Corps. Many also know that Orton also spent time in a military prison due to disciplinary reasons. However, many don't know just how bad things were. In 1999, a 19-year old Randy Orton served 38 days in a military prison after he went AWOL not once, but twice, and disobeyed an order from a commanding officer. Under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Private First Class Orton would be tried and later convicted by a special-court martial. One would think that a situation such as this would have helped Orton start down a right, less abrasive past, but as you'll find out, that isn't the way things went down. Despite this hiccup, three years later Orton was debuting in the WWE. Just a matter of months after his sentence, he had been signed to a WWE developmental contract and was competing in Ohio Valley Wrestling.
