8. He Hates Scripted Promos And Wrestling's Formulaic Nature
This one should come as no surprise. Any wrestler who has spent time grinding on the indies and developing their character, or as a fan of old school wrestling knows what a disservice scripted promos have been to the industry, and Dean Ambrose is one of those guys. The problem it creates is that everyone ends up sounding the same and performers never find their voice. Here's a quote from Dean: "A lot of guys come out and they do the exact same thing, are in the exact same mood and have the exact same entrance every night€ I really just make up a lot of crap as I go along. The first time that somebody handed me a sheet of paper with a promo on it, it was like a 'throw up in your mouth' kind of moment. And it's not like their fault, you know? It's not the writers' fault. But if was my world, there would be no written promos, there'd be no scripts€ That wouldn't be a thing." He also spent a decent amounf time deriding the formulaic nature of the modern wrestling industry, stating that matches are too paint-by-numbers, entrances, spots and finishes are all choreographed and there's no spontaneity and that he makes it a point to always try to stray from that formula when possible.
