Dean echoes CM Punk's statements on his Colt Cabana podcast by agreeing that the original concept for The Shield was for them to serve as an entourage for Punk during his title reign, but that there didn't seem to be much thought put into it. He doesn't know exactly how the three of them specifically were chosen though, whereas Punk claims he pitched the trio as Ambrose, Rollins and Chris Hero. Triple H then countered with Roman Reigns. Ambrose talks about how the three men had a huge chip on their shoulder and were "just pasting dudes" and "beating the crap out of dudes" in the ring. In hindsight the story of Punk approaching them and telling them to work stuff with Ryback and beat him up is far more insidious now that UFC's newest star has revealed his disdain for The Big Guy.
