Chryon is the technical name given to the informational graphics that fill the lower-third of a television screen. Willing to experiment with just about everything in the show's early era, Shotgun's chryon wouldn't announce a wrestler's hometown or weight, but rather it would be used to give some sort of left-field yet anecdotal information about him. Savio Vega's "having a bad day" certainly adds a note of levity to a program, and maybe not for the WWE, but for a less "traditional" wrestling presentation (like say, indie favorite Chikara) it's an idea that has a certain novelty and charm.
