10. Survivor Series Being Important
2019's Survivor Series is already going down the crapper due to WWE's never-ceasing obsession with booking team-based matches before they reach the November tradition. Crown Jewel is the latest to step on Survivor's toes, but it wasn't always this way. There was a time when the pay-per-view was essential.
At least, it was in the '90s.
Survivor Series housed monumental moments like The Undertaker's shock title win over Hulk Hogan in 1991, Bob Backlund's attempt to top that in '94 and the historic 'Montreal Screwjob' incident involving Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon in '97. Each of those happenings would be discussed at length in work and at school.
The event was one to circle on the old calendar, and that's simply not the case today. In fact, Survivors is one to avoid if fans can't stomach WWE's pretence that it still carries weight. They blatantly can't be arsed now, so why should those watching?
