10 Things Stone Cold Must Ask The Undertaker On WWE Network Podcast
10. The Montreal Screwjob, His Involvement With Vince
729547At the 1997 Survivor Series, Vince McMahon, Shawn Michaels, Earl Hebner, and a host of others conspired to literally TAKE the WWE Championship from Bret "The Hitman" Hart in a stunning real life moment in the cartoon world of professional wrestling. It ended up being Bret's last match in WWE, and caused a ton of unrest in the locker room where the environment turned toxic as Bret Hart and Vince McMahon came to blows during a closed door meeting. But who initiated this closed door meeting?
According to legend, The Undertaker was furious with McMahon and banged on his office door until he opened it, and told Vince that he must apologize to Bret, and the locker room or else there wouldn't be much of a WWE left. Whatever that meant, it struck a chord with Vince, as he couldn't afford a mutiny among disgruntled wrestlers square in the middle of The Monday Night War.
Conversely, all these years later it would be incredible to hear Taker re-cap this story, and tell us his thoughts on the situation from his perspective. It's not everyday a wrestler famously demands something of Vince, and gets his way. If The Undertaker is as "Old School" as he's famously rumored to be, we all must know if he agreed with what Vince did in hindsight, and if Bret was right or wrong.
