10 Things That Made Brock Lesnar "The Beast"

By Alexander Podgorski /

1. Ending The Streak

To many fans, WrestleMania XXX will forever go down in infamy as the day the Streak was ended. Brock Lesnar challenged the Undertaker to a match and managed to successfully pin the Deadman, ending his formerly perfect streak. Over the years, the Streak had evolved into its own entity, a mythical aspect of WrestleMania that became the focal point of the Undertaker€™s career. Though it had not been truly important until his WrestleMania 21 bout with Randy Orton, after that point it was a core promotional match on the show€™s card. With each passing year and with age catching up with the Undertaker, fan speculation on who would defeat the Streak and when was always running wild. Many think that €˜Taker should have ended the streak at a neat and clean 20-0 after his €˜End of an Era€™ Hell in a Cell match with Triple H. Many more think that he should have retired undefeated at the event, On the other hand, it is believed that €˜Taker himself wanted Brock to end the Streak at WrestleMania 27 in 2011, when Brock was still heavily involved with mixed martial arts. It is believed that his infamous €˜You wanna do it?€™ confrontation with Lesnar was done so that €˜Taker could get Lesnar to come to the WWE to end the Streak. While the ending of the match is in itself historical, the match itself left a lot to be desired. Many people thought the match was subpar, due in part to the Undertaker suffering a concussion early on in the match. €˜Taker didn€™t appear to be himself during the match, and a lot of people were critical of the less-than-stellar build-up during the months before WrestleMania XXX. Either way, this event has permanently solidified Brock Lesnar€™s infamy among the WWE Universe. It seems that only a Beast could conquer the Deadman€™s Streak. Brock Lesnar has without a doubt earned himself a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame for ending the Undertaker€™s Streak. But given his sheer dominance in the WWE over the years, he would€™ve gotten in there anyway.
