In an attempt to further market Brock Lesnar as a powerhouse of a wrestler, he faced off against the Big Show. In that now famous match, Brock Lesnar managed to get the Big Show onto the top turnbuckle and Superplexed him off of it, collapsing the ring. It was a truly shocking moment for everyone, including color commentator Tazz, who could be heard saying Holy $#!#. The extremely loud crowd reaction was testament to that moment. It was also a great marketing ploy to make Lesnar stand out. Such a moment had never been done before (until Big Show and Mark Henry did the spot again around a decade later), which made people think of Lesnar more. It was his name that was associated with one of the most shocking SmackDown moments in history.Which other Superstar was strong enough to cause the ring to implode? Though Big Show had become famous for Chokeslamming the Undertaker through the ring in 1999, that doesnt even come close to the magnitude of this Brock Lesnar Superplex. Only Lesnar could cause such devastation in those days.
