That's what NXT is these days: another brand to complement Raw and SmackDown. It's not quite the lowly development league anymore, and it can stand on its own merits with a self-sufficient touring schedule, roster and those tasty TakeOver specials.

Wouldn't it be sweet to see all that hard work continue without occasionally pressing the reset button?

In a perfect world, NXT would be able to retain some of its star power rather than inevitably packing everyone off to the 'main roster'. Sure, not every single WWE fan watches the show religiously, but that's partly because casuals have been conditioned to think it's a turkey shoot of talent when they're sometimes ushered onto the main weeklies, given a mini-push, then left to rot.

If WWE are willing to give it a go, they should seriously think about building NXT around a nucleus of talent and maintaining some sort of consistency. Velveteen Dream, Aleister Black, The Undisputed Era and Shayna Baszler all come to mind as prime talents to lead the way for years to come.
